My Top Five Website Tips for Line Dancers!

Years ago, teachers would bring paper copies of dance scripts to class, sometimes photocopied from Line Dancer (paper) magazine. If you wanted to hear the music, you had to buy the CD (“Line Dance Fever” was a popular series!) It’s so different now, the wonders of the internet make life so much easier! And yet… there are so many sites out there… where to start?
Dancers, here are my top tips for you:
Join our mailing list. I normally email you once a week and there's usually a link to the steps, videos, music, or just general useful stuff! To join the list, just make sure you tick the box next time you book a place in one of our classes. (You can leave the list at any time, just let me know.)
Copperknob! This site has a page for each dance, uploaded by the choreographers. You can see the steps written down (some people learn better that way), plus there's ususally a music video, a teach video, and demo videos too. Why is it called Copperknob? I haven’t a scooby, sorry!
Everything Line Dance. Another great site for searching for dance scripts.
You Tube. If you can remember the name of the dance, try searching for it (put "line dance" after the name of the dance; you may need the choreographer too).
Cheating a bit, but no 5 is also YouTube! I'm often asked for videos that teach just a single step. I recommend the short videos produced by Rachel McEnaney; another good one to search is AB Coasters. Our friends Val and Tania (they teach in Middlesex) have a channel which not only teaches basic steps, but they also demonstrate many classic line dances, very clearly.
So do bookmark these, and if you have any other top tips for websites to bookmark, drop them in the comments! Thank you!
