What to wear?

Quite a rare question! I was asked this week, what to wear to class?

I'm not sure, but I think the question may have been prompted by another club posting a video showing a class full of people dancing with hats, checked shirts., waistcoats... the whole nine yards!

Now, there's nothing wrong with that, if that's what you want to do! But it's not what we generally do at Laughter in Line. Yes, we like and play country music. Yes, we are a community, we do social things together as well as just come to dance class (well, you don't have to do the social things... but there is a whole social friendship scene if you want it.) But at class, we just wear "normal stuff"!

My usual "uniform" is a pink Laughter in Line polo shirt, a pair of trousers, and my dance shoes (Blochs). (I would love to wear a skirt in hot weather, but I find if I do that, you can't see my feet very well... so that's that!)

So the short answer to "what should I wear?" is: whatever you're comfortable in. Shorts, trousers, T-shirts, vests, skirts - whatever you are comfortable in. I want you to be able to relax and have fun!

If you want to wear a checked shirt, jeans etc please feel free! So long as you are comfortable.

Finally - a word about the Laughter in Line polo shirts. In previous years I've put in an annual order with our supplier, local firm Linela Embroidery. The shirts are good quality, come in a range of sizes, and wash (and tumble dry) well. Our standard shirt is either pink, as in the picture, or black. It says Laughter in Line. org on the front, and Line dancers are lovely people! on the back.

If you'd like to order a shirt at other times of year, you're welcome to do that. I've linked our supplier above for you, tell Graham you need an RX101! We've ordered from them for years and he knows the design details.

Does it have to be a polo? No, they also do t-shirts etc, just ask for what you want and Graham will figure something out for you. Please keep the colours and design similar to our "standard" shirt though. Thanks!

I hope that answers the question, but please feel free to comment below if you have another question.
