Keeping Cool!

There's a heatwave forecast for this week, so it seems a good time for some hints for keeping cool on the dance floor.

(Actually, the picture is to catch your attention - but you know, don't you, not to bring food or drinks other than water, onto the dance floor!)

Some ideas for you - I'll include links but I'm not endorsing any retail outlet - it's just to show you what I mean!

  • Neck fans, such as this one.

  • Neck cloths are inexpensive, you wet them and then put them around your neck and it's surprising the difference it can make! A good tip is to put them in the fridge before coming out to dance.

  • An empty spray bottle (I bought mine in Boots) can be filled with water and kept in the fridge. Empty and refill daily, then use to spray on your face and neck.

  • This folding, portable fan from Must Have Ideas now lives on my desk - it's quiet and does the job! Enough of these in our dance halls (they are battery powered and rechargeable) will stir things up for us!

  • And of course - bring a bottle of water and drink plenty! All of our halls have water available, please do ask if you need a refill.

  • I've also ordered these ice pop bags - 7p each - I want to see if I can freeze them and then put them inside a water bottle like a long ice cube... not sure if this will work!

Just some ideas - I hope you find them helpful, and can you add to my list? Please do comment below!
